Formatting Guidelines

Paper Format

  • Page size should be A4;

  • Each page should have clear margins of 4cm (top), 2.5cm (left and right) and 2.7cm (bottom);

  • Pages should not contain page numbers, headers or footers;

  • Text is single spaced, not double spaced;

  • All pages are portrait (landscape pages should be rotated).

Paper Content

  • Extended abstract must be written in English and the study must align with one of the following topics:

    • Green Economy & Green Investment

    • Tourism & Cultural Heritage Conservation in Asia

    • Low Emission, Zero Waste & Biodiversity Conservation

    • Tourism & SDGs

    • Tourism & Community Empowerment

    • Sustainable Hospitality Management

    • The Future of Tourism & Hospitality Education

    • Tourism, Innovation, & Destination Management

    • Tourism Marketing & Entrepreneurship

  • Extended abstract must be within 1,000-1,500 words but not more than 4 pages long, including general abstracts (within 150-200 words), tables, figures, acknowledgements, appendices and references;

  • Similarity must be less than 15%;

  • The paper includes the author name(s) and affiliation(s) (full address including country).

  • All figures and tables should be numbered in numerical order. Please ensure that figure/table numbers are not duplicated or missing. Figures are legible and placed within the text, not collected at the end of the document.
  • Displayed equations should follow a naming convention in numerical order, i.e. (1), (2), (3) etc or by section, i.e. (1.1), (1.2) etc. Ensure every displayed equation has its own number and none are duplicated or missing.

  • Reference must follow Vancouver format. For more information about Vancouver referencing format, please refer to HERE.

Submission Guidelines

1. Registration

  • Fill in the registration form as a presenting delegate. For each paper, only one author needs to register as a presenting delegate. Other co-authors (if any) will register as non-presenting delegates.

  • A confirmation email will be sent out to confirm the registration details. No payment is made until the extended abstract is reviewed and accepted for presentation at ICRTH2023.

  • Please note that each person can only be author (regardless of main author or co-author roles) of maximum two (02) submissions.

2. Extended Abstract Preparation​

  • Download the template and prepare the extended abstract based on the given format.

  • Please carefully proofread to avoid any grammatical/spelling errors.

  • Please ensure the extended abstract is within 1,000-1,500 words but not more than 4 pages, including general abstracts (within 150-200 words), tables, figures, acknowledgements, appendices and references.

  • Please ensure the extended abstract similarity is less than 15%.

3. Submission and Review

  • Submit the extended abstract to icrth.admin@responsibleborneo.com by replying to the confirmation email.

  • The extended abstract will go through double-blind review process. The decisions whether the extended abstract is accepted for presentation at ICRTH2023 will be made within three (03) weeks.​

​4. Presentation and Preparation

  • Once the extended abstract is accepted for presentation, the total registration fee will be informed via email. Payment method, acceptance letter and payment invoice will also be included. Presentation slot is only confirmed after payment is well received by the conference organisers.

  • No revision is needed before presentation session. Each presenter is given 10 minutes to present followed by 5-10 minutes Q&A. Further detailed comments will be given by the panel judges during Q&A session.

5. Publication in SCOPUS-indexed Conference Proceedings

  • After the conference ends, a complete manuscript is required for the paper to be published in SCOPUS-indexed conference proceedings. The manuscript may go through more than one round of review and revision until it meets the desired standard.

  • The conference proceedings shall be available in six (06) months after the conference ends.
